Cathedral Appointments is recruiting for an experienced L&D Manager to join our Devon based client. This role is responsible for the creation and management of the people development strategy across the business. Leading the Learning and Development function, delivering an efficient, effective and proactive service, measuring and evaluating the ROI for the business.  The L&D strategy spans core competency and statutory/regulatory training at all levels.

This is a thriving national base with a strong presence across the South and South West with great potential for growth. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a solid background in a senior level L&D role, a creative flair for developing content, and the knowledge and skills to establish a robust structured L&D strategy.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Working closely with key stakeholders to develop and deliver a group wide L%D strategy

  • Regular assessment and review of the delivery to ensure training needs are established and let in line with company agenda

  • Meticulous planning and organisation of the training program, including both internal and external resources

  • Building and further developing the management development program, leading on the design and content

  • Developing and supporting the eLearning tools to ensure it meets the needs of the business and the employees

  • Develop and improve the competency framework including a suite of KPI measurements

  • Manage the L&D budget including apprenticeships and external suppliers

Essential skills and experience:

  • Demonstrable experience in an L&D / Training role at managerial level

  • A solid understanding of the full L&D cycle, and the employee journey

  • Experience of working within a large multi-site operation, and ideally experience in a customer led o retail sales operation

  • Budget management experience, numerate with excellent planning skills

  • Having previously created, delivered and managed a broad companywide L&D strategy

This operation has multi sites across the UK, and the post holder will be required to visit a range of sites and training suites in order to manage, oversee and deliver training. A flexible and adaptable approach will be essential, coupled with the ability to lead, motive and inspire others.
