Our client is a children and young people’s charity based across the North West. They provide a range of social care, special education, community support and consultancy services with a staff force of approximately 850, which we expect to increase to 1000 over the next two years. They are recruiting for a full time, permanent Payroll Manager to lead and manage a high quality, efficient and effective payroll and pensions service. As the successful candidate you will be responsible for managing and delivering the full process of a timely and accurate payroll and pension within defined timescales on a monthly basis.

Supported by the Payroll Administrator, your main responsibilities will include;

  • To manage the Trust’s payroll system to ensure all remuneration and related deductions are made correctly and within the required deadlines.
  • Responsible for the delivery of accurate payments to staff
  • Responsible for ensuring the Trust is abreast of all payroll related legislation, and that it is implemented by the Trust in accordance with the legislative guidance
  • Responsible for ensuring all necessary payroll and pension archiving records are retained and that payroll-related information is kept in good order in accordance with legislation.
  • Responsibility for the completion of all year-end returns to ensure submission before the deadlines set.
  • Responsible for the reconciliation of all payroll and pension cost and control accounts.
  • Primary contact for all payroll and pension queries both external and internal acting promptly and in a professional manner.
  • Responsible for all pension (Automatic Enrolment and others) administration processes
  • Management and development of payroll systems, processes and software.
