An exciting recruitment opportunity with a local fire service
Our client are responsible for delivering a fire and rescue service to the 805,000 people of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. They operate from 28 fire stations, 27 of which are operational. Their stations vary in status from being staffed 24/7, 365 days a year, to being completely on-call, meaning firefighters are on call day and night and are alerted to incidents by a pager.
Position: Recruitment Team Manager
Location: Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire
Contract type: Full Time, Fixed Term until 31 December 2018
Hours: 37 hours per week
Salary: £28,203 per annum

About the Role:
The Recruitment Manager will ensure the provision of a customer-focused and fit-for-purpose recruitment service to the business, managing the work of the team and supporting team members to develop both professionally and personally in order to achieve their full potential.
You will be a ‘hands-on’ member of the team, taking responsibility for specific recruitment campaigns as agreed, and providing resilience and practical support to the team during peaks in workload. You will also play an active role in promoting and role-modelling the behaviours and cultural attitude that the Service seeks to embed.
The successful candidate will have an appropriate recruitment qualification, e.g. Institute of Recruitment Professionals minimum Level 3 qualification or equivalent, or an appropriate HR qualification giving at least Associate membership status, plus evidence of previous experience specialising in the recruitment function. Full membership of the CIPD (MCIPD) or a relevant degree in HRM would be an advantage.
You will have experience of working in an in-house recruitment function and experience of designing and running assessment centres. You will also have good working knowledge of current and emerging employment law and best practice impacting on recruitment and an understanding and knowledge of the key issues facing them and the wider fire and rescue sector, and the implications of this for recruitment.
Additionally you will have experience of managing a small team of fellow professionals, at different stages in their career development. You will be an articulate and effective communicator, able to present and explain issues verbally and in writing to diverse audiences. The post holder will be required to travel within the Authority area on a regular basis, with the potential for national travel on occasions (planned in advance) so a full, current UK driving license is essential.
