Senior Recruitment Officer
Are you looking for an exciting role recruiting volunteers and tackling educational inequality? Our client is looking for an outstanding Recruitment Officer to join their West Midlands team to do just this.
They are a youth social action charity which challenges 18 to 25-year-olds to tackle educational inequality through a year of full-time voluntary service. As mentors, tutors and role models in schools, they support pupils growing up in some of the most disadvantaged areas of the UK. Their experience empowers these exceptional and diverse young people to realise their aspirations and grow as leaders, both through their impact on children’s lives and through training, coaching and career development opportunities.
Their volunteers are integral to the school day. They encourage pupils both in and out of the classroom to engage with and enjoy learning, while developing their own skills. They also meet to share experiences and benefit from additional training, delivered by experts from across the education, business and voluntary sectors.
Position: Senior Recruitment Officer
Location: West Midlands
Contract type: Full Time, Permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am to 5.30pm
Salary: £23,900 per annum
Benefits: Up to 5% employer pension contributions, 25 days holiday per year plus 2 grace days over the Christmas break and a range of other great flexible benefits.

About the Role:
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a fast growing organisation that recruits and develops young leaders to transform the educational and social outcomes of pupils across the UK. The position offers the opportunity to lead on exciting regional attraction work to deliver a pipeline of high quality volunteers excited to apply for their programme. You will have responsibility and autonomy to search for exceptional leaders motivated to drive and shape social change. You will also contribute to delivering an efficient and effective end to end recruitment service, supporting with selection and onboarding processes; to ensure outstanding volunteers are recruited and retained delivering excellent outcomes for the schools and pupils they work with.
To succeed in this role, you will be experienced in working within a recruitment, university, college or careers setting. Have experience managing applications using an ATS (applicant tracking system) or CRM database. You should also have previously worked within a data driven setting, possess an awareness of good data management practice, and be a competent user of databases and desk office software.
Educated to degree level or equivalent, with knowledge of UK school leaver and graduate markets, the ideal candidate will have an understanding of the education sector, youth social action and the volunteer sector. This is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic, highly organised individual to continuously improve City Year’s recruitment strategy.
This role also requires an individual who is willing to travel across the UK to recruitment events, and to occasionally work evenings and weekends at peak recruitment times.
