They are a leading manufacturer of a diverse and trusted range of concrete and clay building products used extensively within the construction sector, with instantly recognisable brands such as Thermalite blocks, London Brick, Ecostock, Cradley, Formpave and Jetfloor, Bison Precast.

 

Their product range comprises of clay bricks, Thermalite blocks, aggregate blocks, Red Bank chimney, roofing and flue systems, precast concrete and flooring products and Formpave permeable paving.

Their purpose is to manufacture products that are the essential to the nation’s construction sector, helping their customers build with ease and confidence. Moreover, they continue to lead our industry in terms of standards and safety.

 

They are currently looking for an enthusiastic individual to join their team in the position of Senior Payroll Administrator at Northampton.

 

The Role

 

This is a specialized administrative role which requires the administrator to maintain complete confidentiality. Working knowledge of PAYE is also essential.

 

The Candidate

 

  • To pay employees authorized amounts accurately, on time and in compliance with company policy and prevailing legislation.

  • Liaise with payroll colleagues at other sites and the external payroll provider to process payroll information accurately

  • Ensure payroll data is entered into the system accurately

  • Checking information supplied by individual sites are correct, this may include number of hours worked, overtime allowances, ad-hoc payments e.g. Student Loan agreements

  • Processing holiday, sickness and maternity pay

  • Assisting employees with their queries about timesheets or pay slips

  • Assisting the HR Admin Manager/Administrator during busy/peak periods with any administrative requirements

  • The department is also responsible for administering payments to external bodies such as HM Collector of Taxes, HIPS etc.This includes the reconciliation of control accounts.

  • Payments to employees to query abnormal amount

  • Payments to 3rd parties including HMRC to allow for notification of submissions and queries.

  • The role will have sight of all payments going through the FORTERRA payroll including redundancy payments.

     

    Qualifications

     

    Minimum Requirements

     

  • Integrity and reliability are critical

  • Experienced in working in a payroll department.

  • Knowledge of double entry and general ledgers

  • Good knowledge of PAYE and NI legislation.

     

    Desirable Characteristics

     

  • Attention to detail

  • Not afraid to challenge and say no to whoever.
