A Legal and Professional Service Training and Development Officer is required to work for a leading Law Firm based in Newcastle Upon Tyne. You will ideally come from a legal background and have the knowledge, ability and experience to develop training needs within the firm. Job Purpose To support Change Management and HR in the effective delivery of the overall L&D strategy. Together with the appropriate department the post holder will assist in identifying development needs, to then organise, design, create and deliver solutions across the organisation at every level from Administrators to Solicitors and Management. Responsible for setting clear points of evaluation and able to demonstrate clear progress from identified needs. Key Responsibilities Responsible for developing and implementing the Company's Learning and Development strategy whilst coordinating with stakeholders across the Group to ensure its' effectiveness.To create/design/deliver/coordinate/forecast/review mandatory and developmental training requirements for new and existing staff across the Group.Monitor SRA guidelines and requirements for staff training and competence and ensure that all requirements and subsequent changes are reflected in all training.To record, collate and retain management information to demonstrate progress against KPI's and departmental goals and objectives.To provide development by coaching and one-to-one support where the need for this has been established.To keep up to date with current thinking on best practice training and methods.To answer training related queries, providing effective solutions to ensure a high quality service throughout the Group.To perform other duties as may be required, in order to provide a flexible approach to meeting the needs of the business and providing a high level of customer service. Skills and Experience Required Previous L&D experience in a similar role within a commercial legal environment.Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport at all levels.Experience of training in a classroom environment is essential. The post holder should also be equally comfortable presenting to large audiences as well as on a one-to-one basis.Willingness and ability to work on own initiative and see tasks through to completion.Ability to multi-task in a busy role and plan for projects and training courses, whilst managing stakeholder expectations.Must be customer-focused with a proactive, flexible approach.Good understanding of a high pressured, legal environment.Must be able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.Logical and calm approach, with the ability to inspire confidence and credibility.Must have excellent presentation skills with an impeccable level of attention to detail.A good appreciation of commercial Law Firms and Lawyers.CIPD Level 5 Learning and Development qualification or working towards is desirable.
