The Company provide care and support within various settings supporting adults and children with learning disabilities, all of which are regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and through Local Authority Contract Compliance. In conjunction to external regulatory Regimes New Prospects has their own quality and standards which is part of their Continuous Service Improvement. The Training Manager Role is significant in supporting the operational team in ensuring the services they provide are fully compliant and meet regulatory standards and the expectations of those People we support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Being responsible for the overall development and delivery of the company's learning & development curriculum.
  • Creating and delivering an induction programme for all new starters, embedding a competency assessment that supports the probation appraisal
  • Undertake Training Needs Analysis that reflects both the bespoke needs of the individual's They support and the on-going development needs of their employees
  • Responsible for the creation and delivery of identified remedial training need
  • Delivering training for all levels of the organisation
  • Measuring training effectiveness and recommending course of improvement
  • Ensuring that all course materials are updated regularly and quality assured
  • Ensure compliance training is assigned and completed on time
  • Reporting to the Senior Management Team monthly in relation to training compliance on each service.
  • Implementing the Leadership Qualities Framework for Adult Social Care to Lead Supports and Support Managers and where required Senior Management team.
  • Implementing skills framework as advocated by the National Skills Care Academy
  • Develop course materials and job aids in a range of media formats
  • Reviewing Training Policy & Procedures


  • Professional Qualification in Health & Social Care (D)
  • Experience of planning and delivering training in the health and social care sector (E)
  • Experience of undertaking training needs analysis and evaluation (D)
  • Ideally, you will have experience gained in a regulated environment, but this is not essential. (D)
  • CIPD qualification or significant/proven experience of working at this level within learning & development (E)
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to drive and motivate improved performance through learning and development (D)
  • Has high standards, is motivated towards excellence and improvement and has a can do attitude (E)
  • Passion for Continuous Learning (E)
  • Strong communicator and strong interpersonal skills and the flexibility to be able to work with diverse teams (E)
  • Ability to develop credibility with internal and external stakeholders and build good working relationships (E)
  • Highly organised and ability to adapt quickly to strategic changes (E)
  • Knowledge of vocational qualifications pathways (E)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (E)
  • Excellent IT skills including PowerPoint, Publisher & Excel (E)
  • Willingness to work flexibly and to keep knowledge and skills up to date (E)
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic and keen to learn.(E)
  • Develop strong relationships with managers to deliver training and meet required targets.(E)
  • Ability to write reports and analyse data to produce reports for senior managers. (E)
  • Experience of online learning systems and tools (E)
  • Knowledge of Skills for Health & Skills for Care resources (E)
  • Knowledge and understanding of the needs of people supported by New Prospects (E)
  • Has a good understanding of CQC inspection standards, relevant legislation and wider policy environment.(D)
  • Maintain accurate and up to date records relating to training and development (E)
  • Keep own practice and knowledge up to date through research, meetings and attending courses (E)
  • Knowledge of Human Rights, Disability Discrimination Act, Equality and Diversity and how these should be adhered to (D)
  • Highly self-motivated, proactive and positive (E)
  • Ability to work on own initiative and to established deadlines (E)
  • Commitment to personal development (E)
